# MCP

Channel3 offers an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that integrates with AI coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. The MCP lets your agent search for products, browse categories, track prices, and more — directly from your development environment.

## Setup

### Claude Code

```bash
claude mcp add channel3 -- npx -y @channel3/mcp-server
```

### Cursor

Add to your MCP configuration (`.cursor/mcp.json`):

## Authentication

Set the `CHANNEL3_API_KEY` environment variable, or configure it in your MCP server settings. A free tier is available for evaluation without an API key.

## Available tools

The MCP server exposes Channel3 API endpoints as tools your agent can call:

| `search`            | Search for products by text query        |
| `image_search`      | Search for products by image             |
| `similar`           | Find products similar to a given product |
| `lookup`            | Look up a product by URL                 |
| `get_product`       | Get product details by ID                |
| `list_brands`       | List available brands                    |
| `search_brands`     | Search brands by name                    |
| `list_categories`   | List available categories                |
| `search_categories` | Search categories by name                |
